HCVN brings you a variety of Tiger sports throughout the year, which are largely thanks to our parent and Tiger-supporting volunteers. 


HCVN channel 10 is also the perfect place to catch a LIVE showing of band and choir concerts or other school activities taking place in the Hutchinson High School. Catch replays from the Hutchinson Middle School and High School, New Discoveries Montessori, as well as Ridgewater College, thanks to the help of volunteers. Fall, holiday, and springtime concerts air at corresponding times throughout the year.


Watch LIVE and replayed footage during weekly feature slots at 7pm, and during Arts and Sports Showcase hours Fridays at 9am, and Saturdays at 3pm.

Bringing Art to Life

Community Interest

Community events of many types are welcomed as programming for channel 10, airing throughout the week. These events appeal to the different interests of community members, featuring such topics as Jaycee Water Carnival pageants and parades, RiverSong Music Festival artists, McLeod County Fair entertainment, author visits at the Hutchinson Public Library, educational speakers, or dedication events such as murals or parks. You can find community interest programs airing at 2pm Mondays, 8am Tuesdays, 11pm Thursdays, and 10pm on Saturdays.

Historic Hutchinson

Saturday mornings from 10am until noon, HCVN offers programming featuring historical aspects of Hutchinson and the surrounding communities. These programs also air at 10:30pm on Tuesdays and 8am on Thursdays -- be sure to check the program schedule for detailed content information. Content stems from the Historic Hutchinson organization (including annual Living History cemetery tours), the McLeod County Historical Society, and community members.

History Quest

MCHS museum director Brian introduces the community to local stories from McLeod County's history and takes viewers on location in this monthly local program. Watch History Quest on Tuesdays at 11am, Thursdays at 6pm, and Saturdays at 9:30pm to hear the history behind McLeod County's communities.

Hutchinson Veterans Outreach Program

Watch HCVN cable channel 10 on Mondays at 6pm, Fridays at 11am, and Saturdays at 2pm to see the Hutchinson Veterans Outreach Program. This is a locally created series hosted by veteran Lisa Dittell, and featuring guests who bring their stories, assistive information, and veteran-friendly events and services to the show.  Hutchinson Veterans Outreach Program aims to connect area veterans to each other, as well as to build a bridge between civilians and veterans.

In the Garden

Featuring chats with fellow garden-enthusiasts, tours of local flower beds, and gardening how-to tips, "In the Garden" is a monthly program hosted by Master Gardener Joyce Hochsprung. Watch this program on HCVN channel 10 Tuesdays at 11am, Thursdays at 6pm, and Saturdays at 9pm.

Meet the Author

Wednesdays on HCVN 10 are dedicated to two showings of an author talk (10am & 10pm), now also shown on Saturdays (5:30pm). These presentations are locally filmed thanks to organizations such as Heart of Hutch, the public library, and the museum. Catch up with authors both local and national, ranging from William Kent Krueger to Letty Bernhagen.

Music and Entertainment

These programming slots are dedicated to just that -- music and entertainment. Featuring bands from RiverSong Music Festival, Peace Lutheran's Noon Recitals, and entertaining acts from the county fair, this category spans all genres of musical interest. Tune in Sundays and Mondays at 11pm, Tuesdays at 9am, and Saturdays at 1pm.

Music in the Park

Every summer brings Music in the Park to Library Square in Hutchinson on Monday evenings, with musicians from the community, state, and beyond. HCVN brings the music to you live beginning at 6:20p.m. when available. Replays of Music in the Park can be seen on channel 10 on Monday evenings when live music is not available, as well as on some Fridays and Saturdays. Keep an eye on the weekly programming schedule for air times throughout the year.

Off the Shelf: Book Talk with Book Lovers

Hosts Kay and Betsy bring you this original series geared toward bookworms, filled with discussion about every genre, nonfiction and fiction, alike. Join them Mondays at 11am, Fridays at 6pm, and Saturdays at 8:30am on HCVN 10 to hear their take on various titles and find a new favorite read of your own.

Polka Spotlight

Dan and Yvonne Viehman host this top-rated music and dance show that features live bands that play polka, waltz, swing and so much more. This popular program was created at Northwest Community Television and has been a fan favorite across the upper Midwest for over 18 years. Polka Spotlight is shown on HCVN 10 Wednesdays from 12pm-2pm, and Saturdays from 9am-10am.

Story Time

Tune in weekdays at 7:30am, 11:30am, or 4:30pm to hear some great children's read-alouds, songs, and activities. "Story Time" is led by the Hutchinson Public Library's children's librarian. Catch it live on Thursdays at 10am on channel 7, too.
